Dr. Vumile Msweli is a career strategist, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Professor of Practice at the University of Johannesburg. She is the Founder of the Hesed Africa Foundation, a Pan-African social impact organisation dedicated to unlocking human potential, accelerating careers, and building sustainable solutions across Africa and the diaspora. The foundation operates across South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Botswana, and the United States, driving measurable transformation at scale.
Her work is anchored in one defining question: how does talent become impact? With formal training in Accounting Sciences, Financial Planning, and leadership, postgraduate studies at New York University and Harvard University, an MBA from the University of London, and a Doctorate in Education Management in Leadership, Dr. Msweli combines rigorous strategy with global insight shaped by travel to more than 60 countries.
Through the Africa Career Summit, she convenes one of the continent’s largest gatherings of professionals to address youth unemployment and reimagine career mobility at scale. Beyond career acceleration, she leads practical impact initiatives, including water conservation projects that reduce household costs, protect critical resources, and generate employment within communities.
Dr. Msweli has worked with leading organisations including Barclays, Investec, Nedbank, Vodafone, Google, and Bidvest Bank. She has spoken at high-level platforms such as the African Union, TEDx, the Women’s Economic Forum, and the UK Houses of Parliament. Recognised by the United Nations as one of the Top 50 Female Founders in the Middle East and Africa and named among Africa’s Forty Under 40, her mission is clear: to transform African talent into measurable, lasting impact.
