Tucan Tucan was born out of a shared vision among musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds to unite and fuse different styles of music. The band's formation brought together South African percussionist Frank Paco, Argentine keyboardist Muriel Marco, Mozambican guitarist Helder Gonzaga, and South African saxophonist Buddy Wells, among others.

Their music is described as a "kaleidoscope of sound," a vibrant melting pot of African rhythms such as Kwasa Kwasa, Marrabenta, Mbaqanga, and Maskandi, interwoven with South American elements like Samba, Salsa, and Bossa Nova. The band has released two albums to date: Xiluva and Make a Difference. Their song "Slow Jam" reached the top 10 on Heart 104.9 FM and was included in the "Heart and Soul of Cape Town" compilation. Tracks like "Hold On" and "Sizani" have received extensive airplay on various radio stations and were featured on international platforms such as Channel O, SABC channels, and MTV Base.
