Kingsley Holgate is widely regarded as one of Africa’s greatest modern-day explorers. Explorer, humanitarian, author, television personality, conservation advocate, and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, he has dedicated his life to proving that adventure can be a powerful force for good. Over four decades, he has led groundbreaking expeditions across some of the world’s most remote and challenging regions while delivering life-changing humanitarian support to vulnerable communities.
As founder of the Kingsley Holgate Foundation, Kingsley has pioneered a unique model of "humanitarian adventure" that combines exploration with practical impact. Together with his team, he has travelled through all 54 countries on the African continent, delivering malaria prevention initiatives, vision care programmes, clean water projects, early childhood development support, and conservation interventions to communities often beyond the reach of traditional aid efforts.
His expeditions have achieved numerous world-firsts and historic milestones. These include tracking the entire outline of Africa through 33 countries, discovering the geographical centre of Africa deep within the Congo Basin, reaching all seven of the continent’s extreme geographical points, and becoming the only expedition team to follow the Tropic of Capricorn around the world by vehicle. Along the way, Kingsley has become recognised not only for his spirit of adventure but for his unwavering commitment to service and positive change.
A gifted storyteller with a lifetime of extraordinary experiences, Kingsley captivates audiences with lessons drawn from leadership in extreme environments, overcoming adversity, teamwork, conservation, purpose-driven action, and the importance of leaving a positive legacy. His presentations blend humour, inspiration, and powerful real-world insights that resonate with business leaders, educators, conservationists, and organisations seeking to make a meaningful impact.
Whether sharing stories from remote African landscapes, humanitarian missions, or record-breaking expeditions, Kingsley leaves audiences inspired to think bigger, act boldly, and recognise that every journey has the potential to change lives.
