Jaco Kriel is a former Springbok rugby player, leadership speaker, and founder of the JK6 Foundation. Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most explosive and hardworking loose forwards, Jaco built a career defined by resilience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. From his early days in Standerton, where he captained his school’s First XV and served as head boy, to representing South Africa on the international stage, his journey is a testament to the power of determination and purpose-driven leadership.

After progressing through the Lions rugby system and starring in the Varsity Cup while studying at the University of Johannesburg, Jaco became a cornerstone of the Lions team during one of the most successful periods in the franchise’s history. His fearless style of play, exceptional work ethic, and leadership qualities helped drive the team to three consecutive Super Rugby finals and ultimately earned him selection for the Springboks. He made his Test debut against Ireland in 2016 and went on to represent South Africa in 11 international matches.

Jaco later continued his professional career in the English Premiership with Gloucester Rugby before returning to Johannesburg to finish his playing career with the Lions.
