Duncan Johnson is a versatile saxophonist, composer, and arranger from Cape Town, South Africa. His musical journey began at the age of 12 when he started playing drums in church. During his high school years, he expanded his musical repertoire by learning guitar, bass guitar, and piano. In 2011, he discovered the alto saxophone and quickly developed a deep passion for the instrument.

After taking a gap year to travel, Duncan pursued formal music studies at the University of Cape Town, focusing on tenor saxophone, jazz composition, and arrangement. Since then, he has been an active performer and educator, sharing his musical talents with audiences around the world.

As a full-time musician, Duncan performs a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, R&B, pop, and love songs. He offers performances as a solo saxophonist with backing tracks or as part of various ensembles, from small bands to big band jazz orchestras, tailoring his setup to suit the client's preferences.

Duncan is also a member of several bands in Cape Town, including The Hannepoot Brass Band, The Little Giants Big Band, and PB&J, where he contributes his skills on saxophone, bass guitar, and upright bass. His dedication to promoting Cape Jazz and its rich heritage is evident in his performances and collaborations with renowned South African musicians.
