About Dr Khumalo :

Doctor Khumalo, born Theophilus Doctorson Khumalo in Soweto, South Africa, on June 26, 1967, is a living legend in football. Known as "16V," he played an instrumental role in shaping South African soccer, excelling as a midfielder for Kaizer Chiefs and the national team, Bafana Bafana. With 397 appearances and 90 goals for Kaizer Chiefs, he was a pivotal figure in their dominance during the 1990s. Internationally, Khumalo represented South Africa in their first post-apartheid match against Cameroon and was a key player in the team that won the 1996 African Nations Cup.

His career achievements include being named South African Footballer of the Year in 1992, and he earned 50 caps for the national team, scoring nine goals. Beyond his playing days, Khumalo transitioned into coaching, achieving milestones such as leading Kaizer Chiefs' youth and senior teams and obtaining UEFA and SAFA coaching licenses. Currently serving as Baroka FC's technical director, he continues to contribute to the sport with his expertise and vision.

Khumalo has also dabbled in acting, appearing in the South African-German film Themba, further showcasing his versatility. Off the field, he is a devoted family man and a respected voice in soccer commentary and television. His impact on football and his ongoing legacy as a coach, mentor, and icon cement his place as one of South Africa's greatest sporting figures​.
